Reading the Psalter
During the 40-day Nativity Fast, we will read one Kathisma from the Psalter as part of our daily prayer. There are a total of 20 Kathismata, so each person will go through the entire Psalter twice during the fast. The goal of this exercise is to help us increase our daily prayer during the Nativity Fast while becoming familiar with the Book of Psalms.
If you are interested in participating, please:
Starting on November 15th, incorporate the assigned Kathisma in your daily prayer starting with Kathisma 1, per the attached schedule.
Each kathisma takes about 20 minutes to read.
Attached is a suggestion on a prayer rule.
You can read the kathisma any time of the day, and if you miss one, just pick it up the next day.
